You can 100% find more about me through our About page or our Instagram. Here, I wanted to have a recent dedicated post about myself. 🤗 In this blogpost, you’ll get to know me as a person – on a human level – and as a professional. With my technical and industry experience, you’ll find a home for the best therapist website you could have.

This will not be a blogpost only about me. I’ll chat about our team a little bit but also our wonderful clients who have recently launched their therapist website with us. Essentially, the goal here is to help you gauge who we are as a team and what our dynamic is like.

Back in 2018, when I first established Chloe Creative, I wasn’t entirely sure where this was going to take me. I was still in college, still on track to graduate a year early and still planning to find a corporate job to gain experience. And all that I did.

But today, we are a team of 6 ladies whom are not only my “coworkers” but also my work family. This is a large key point of who we are, and we want to invite you to uncover it with us!

How did you get into the therapist website space?

Agh I love this question! And honestly, a lot of potential clients ask us this question when on a discovery call with us. So, let’s quickly answer!

Long story short, one of my very first clients was a Colorado-based dietitian, whom referred me to several other sweet dietitians. After a year or so of really niching into the dietitian space, we wanted to expand as a team into more of the clinician space. Think: chiropractors, physical therapists, speech language pathologists, lactation consultants and yes, therapists!

We found ourselves stumbling upon this niche and absolutely loving it because we connect with our clients on a human level. Meaning, if we can be friends, we’d make great clients!

After having a few projects in the the therapist website space, we really loved working with that type of clients and the content that they are pushing out into the internet.

What it takes to design a therapist website

I’d like to say that really any designer can specialize in therapist websites. However, in the clinician world, you’ll often be encountered with many Type A, to-do list, lovers of outlines, types of clients. And we absolutely love that, because same!

That said, we’ve found a few qualities that our team holds that have really come in handy as we navigate different types of therapists and clinicians alike:

  • Paying attention to the details and meanings behind what they say
  • Having a creative mind to differentiate from competitors that have similar styles
  • Understand their client management platforms

Once you can grasp ahold of your ideal client and understand what makes them “tick” I really feel like you can alter your process to cater to exactly what they need. Let’s dive into each of these more!

1. Be very detailed oriented as you design website for therapists.

Being detail-oriented is such a great quality to have. As a student or designer, it’s always great to pay attention to the tiny details just as much as the bigger ones!

Our team pays most attention to detail in our intake and design processes. As our clients complete their intake questionnaires, it’s up to our team to interpret the things you say to accurately design items accordingly. We really take what you say, pull it apart and expand it to craft the perfect brand for your ideal client.

Secondly, detail is especially needed in the design process as we stare at several pixels of designs per day 😂 That said, we’ll totally be the one to notice the smallest misalignment or pixel spacing that you may never know. Either way, it comes in handy!

Lastly, website design is where detail is taken to another level. If you’ve ever worked with us, you know how tedious it can be going through the different revisions and providing feedback page by page. We are humans, so there will always be errors – but it takes a detail-eye to notice small mishaps here and there!

2. Practicing creativity amongst your therapist website.

Because we are a niche-based studio, we often have overlap in our clients’ preferences. All in all, many therapists work with similar patients so it’s only common to like the same designs!

As your design team, we make it our fullest priority to differentiate your business from your competitors. During our intake process, we ask you for competitors so that we can research their business and ensure nothing is similar.

Now – in design, there will definitely be similar aesthetics of a brand, but there should never be similar brand concepts. By that, we mean if you are able to look at someone’s logo design and immediately think “wow, that looks a whole lot like x’s logo!”.

To expand our creativity, we are constantly staying up to date on trends, pinning on Pinterest, and finding inspiration in everyday lives.

3. Understanding of customer management platforms.

In full transparency, this is something that can only be learned once you get there!

When we first began designing for clinicians, the platforms “Practice Better” or “Simple Practice” was constantly being repeated but we were never familiar. That quickly changed when we noticed that almost every client used one of these platforms!

Our team understands and can confidently help customize these platforms for integration on your website – we actually enjoy this part!

A lot of the time these platforms will have their branding and fonts when using embed codes (for a scheduler). Our team comes in and alters the code so you can have your brand colors and fonts on your widgets. The goal here is to make these embeddable items as seamless as possible onto your website!

4. Knowing what concepts create for a good therapy website.

Here’s a bonus point for you! To be a great therapist website designer, you have to understand what criteria makes for a good therapy website.

In this blogpost, we really expand on this even more when creating an effective therapist website design. In short, here’s what you need to know: our team knows what performs well and what doesn’t on websites. How? Because we spend our full-time researching and designing to understand the behaviors of your clients!
